This month the total number of records indexed on Scopus pushed past 70 million and continues to grow daily. As each record is added to Scopus, the metadata is meticulously captured to ensure the depth and quality of the data. This high-quality data not only enables more precise search and retrieval on Scopus, but also delivers important research assessments and evaluations.

A look back: Five impactful changes introduced to Scopus in 2017

There have been numerous improvements to Scopus this year, including how it looks and feels. Here are 5 of the key changes that may be particularly helpful to share with researchers at your institution:

  1. Enhanced Document Download Manager compatible with Google Chrome
  2. Expansion of Research Metrics
    • CiteScore metrics to help you analyze serial titles
    • PlumX Metrics to provide insights into how people are interacting with an article
  3. Completion of the Cited Reference program, bringing in 11.5 million records from 1970-1995 and 195 million references
  4. Scholix and DataSearch partnerships to help connect to a researcher’s data (when available)
  5. Searching funding acknowledgements to find funded research easier
