Iowa man accused of placing GPS device on victim's vehicle 2024-11-13

An Iowa man has been accused of placing a GPS tracking device on a woman's vehicle without her knowledge. Gary Dishinger, 52, allegedly placed a GPS tracking device on the victim's vehicle in November 2023 and again in November 2024. Dishinger was arrested and charged with one count of unauthorized placement of a global positioning device.

Man charged for allegedly firing gun near Johnston High School 2024-11-13

A 19-year-old Johnston man faces two gun charges after an incident on Tuesday afternoon that prompted a brief lockout at a nearby school. Johnston police officers responded to a report about a person 'actively shooting a handgun' in a field near Johnston High School. As a precaution, the school was placed in a lockout. Witnesses saw a man fire a handgun and run toward townhomes in the area. Officers located 19-year-old Treyvon Foy and took him into custody. Foy has been charged with reckless use of a firearm and control of a firearm by a felon.

New affordable housing complex opens in Des Moines 2024-11-13

A new affordable housing complex called Star Lofts has opened in Des Moines.
