The deceased suspect and involved Des Moines police officers have been identified in a Feb. 6 narcotics investigation shooting. The incident was recorded by body cameras and the footage will be shared as it becomes available. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation continues to investigate the incident.
murder One Dead, One Injured in Des Moines Shooting Incident 2025-02-12
One person is dead following a shooting that occurred in the Sheridan Gardens neighborhood of Des Moines. An adult female was transported to the hospital with a gunshot injury and an adult male was pronounced dead at the scene. The preliminary investigation indicates that it was a domestic-related situation and there is not believed to be any ongoing danger to the neighborhood.

A student at Iowa State University reported being blackmailed by a man she met online in 2018. The investigation led to the uncovering of a ring of alleged Neo-Nazi sexual predators accused of preying on young women, many of them minors, across the world. The investigation identified more than 30 victims and provided evidence for Homeland Security to build its case against the online group that espoused neo-Nazism, nihilism and pedophilia as its core principles.
