Resisting Arrest Boone Man Faces Charges After Fleeing Police, Resisting Arrest 2025-03-07
A Boone man named Corey Carson, 30, is facing over two dozen charges after he ran from police and resisted arrest. Carson was wanted on active warrants, including for domestic abuse assault and violation of a no-contact order. He fled on a bicycle and on foot, and officers had to use a taser to take him into custody after a brief struggle. Two officers suffered minor injuries. In addition to the previous charges, Carson has also been charged with interference with official acts causing bodily injury and possession of methamphetamine.
Theft ATM Stolen from Des Moines Pub After Car Crashes Through Window 2025-03-07
An ATM was stolen from the Dam Pub in Des Moines, Iowa after a car slammed into the front window of the building. No one was inside the pub at the time of the theft. The pub reopened the following day but closed its game room as the investigation continues.
Theft Iowa Priest Accused of Stealing $164,000 from Church 2025-03-07
A western Iowa priest named Thomas Thakadipuram is accused of stealing $164,000 from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shenandoah. Thakadipuram allegedly went to three different banks, removed seven certificates of deposit belonging to the church, and deposited the money into a fake missionary group account before transferring it to his personal account. Thakadipuram has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
