Arson Des Moines Man Charged with Arson and Assault After Gasoline Incident 2025-07-08 A Des Moines man, B. Jeffries, is in jail after allegedly splashing gasoline on a woman and pouring more on a house in the city's east side. The incident started on Tuesday morning when Jeffries had a confrontation with a woman riding a bicycle and splashed gasoline on her. About 90 minutes later, Jeffries approached a home and poured gasoline on it and around the perimeter, making statements about setting it on fire. Jeffries was located and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with first-degree arson and misdemeanor assault, even though he did not actually set a fire, as Iowa law considers the act of placing combustible material with intent to destroy property as arson. Murder Double Homicide Investigation Underway in Middleton, Wisconsin 2025-07-08 The Dane County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double homicide that occurred in the town of Middleton, Wisconsin. A caller reported finding two people unresponsive at a home, and when deputies arrived, they found a man and a woman dead.
