Stabbing Incident in Ames Leaves Three Injured 2024-11-09

A stabbing incident in Ames left three people injured on Friday evening. Police were called to the 3700 block of Tripp Street, near the west Hy-Vee, around 5:30 p.m. Friday. Officers found a crime scene in the street and two victims nearby. The first two victims were transported by ambulance to Mary Greeley Medical Center. Another victim arrived at the hospital a short while later. Two of the victims remain hospitalized in unknown conditions and one victim was transferred to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. The investigation is ongoing and a suspect has not yet been arrested. Ames Police said in a news release on Saturday that investigators believe everyone involved in the stabbing knew each other and that there is not an ongoing threat to the public.

No Arrests Made in Ames Stabbing Incident 2024-11-09

No arrest has been made after three people were stabbed in the 3700 block of Tripp Street Friday evening, according to a news release from the Ames Police Department. At 5:30 p.m. Friday, Ames Police officers responded to a report of multiple stabbings and discovered a crime scene in the street. Three victims were transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center — one by a private vehicle — and one has been transferred to MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. The release also stated the conditions of the victims is unknown. Ames PD is investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Ames Police Department or the anonymous tip line, or submit tips to Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa.
