Des Moines Police Officers Injured, Suspect Killed in Shooting 2024-09-21

Two Des Moines police officers were shot and injured during a confrontation with a suspect, who was killed in the incident. The officers, Cade Moritz and Jacob Boekhoff, were responding to a traffic stop when the suspect, Joshua Dean Green, fled the scene and crashed his vehicle. Green then opened fire on the officers, injuring Moritz in the head and Boekhoff in the arm. Two other officers, Chad Steffen and Frankie Contreras, returned fire and killed Green. The investigation is ongoing.

Des Moines Police Identify Officers Involved in Shooting 2024-09-21

The Des Moines Police Department has released more details about the officers involved in the shooting that left a suspect dead and two police officers injured.
