Zoe A., 21, of Boone and Abraham G.,19, of Independence, Missouri, were apprehended in G.'s hometown on Monday. The pair are each charged with first-degree murder for a fatal shooting that left a Boone man dead at a S. 5th Street apartment. Destiny S., 19, of Ames, was initially arrested on Jan. 24 for first-degree robbery after allegedly luring the victim to her apartment but was later charged with first-degree murder on Feb. 3. Des Moines mayor condemns white supremacist group's march 2025-02-25Des Moines Mayor Connie Boesen called on the community to 'drive out hate' following a national white supremacist group that walked through parts of the city Saturday and carried flags. Boesen made her comments Tuesday night at the city council meeting in response to the march by Patriot Front, a Texas-based organization characterized as a 'white nationalist hate group' by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The group marched through the East Village with faces covered and also stood on a bridge over I-235 above passing motorists. Pardeeville man arrested for 14th OWI 2025-02-25A Pardeeville man was arrested Monday for driving under the influence for the 14th time. A Columbia County Sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle in the Town of Lowville for an equipment violation. The driver, R. D., 69, was found to be under the influence of alcohol. D., who did not have a valid driver's license, has 13 prior convictions for operating while intoxicated. D. was taken to the Columbia County Jail. |
