Patterson, is facing disciplinary charges from state licensing officials. The Iowa Board of Massage Therapy has charged Patterson, owner and operator of Byron's Best Massage in Des Moines, with professional incompetence and engaging in unethical conduct. The board has not disclosed the alleged conduct that led to the charges being filed, nor has it stated when the conduct occurred, other than to say it happened 'during the time period relevant to these allegations.' A hearing on the charges is scheduled for Dec. 2, 2025. Des Moines man sentenced to over 21 years in prison for fentanyl distributionAugust 30, 2025A Des Moines man, K. Harris, Jr., has been sentenced to 262 months in federal prison after being found guilty for Conspiracy to Distribute Fentanyl. After a seven-month investigation, law enforcement arrested Harris in December 2024 for distributing fentanyl on a 'daily or near daily basis.' Law enforcement confirmed Harris traveled to Chicago to get fentanyl to distribute in Des Moines. Harris was reportedly a member of the Black P Stones criminal street gang and had prior convictions. The same day Harris was arrested, officials executed 13 other federal search warrants and seized drugs, firearms and over $13,000. |
