Two Arrested in Marshalltown Death Investigation 2024-09-02Marshalltown authorities and Iowa DCI began a death investigation after an unresponsive man with traumatic injuries was found in a roadway early Saturday. Police responded to a medical emergency at 5:45 a.m. Saturday at North 12th Avenue and Bromley Street in Marshalltown. The man was found unresponsive with visible traumatic injuries in the roadway. He was transported to the Marshalltown Hospital and later moved to a Des Moines medical facility, where he died. Marshalltown PD has identified the victim as E. Seymour, 23, of Tama. 25-year-old T. Cosgrove, of Marshalltown, and 26-year-old J. Alcaraz-Gutierrez, also of Marshalltown, were arrested early Sunday morning following an investigation. Cosgrove has been charged with first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Alcaraz-Gutierrez has been charged with accessory after the fact. Both are being held in the Marshall County Jail. Suspect Arrested in Des Moines Homeless Camp Shooting 2024-09-01Des Moines police have arrested the man suspected of shooting a woman late last month at a homeless camp. Officers began investigating after a shooting was reported in the early morning hours of Aug. 26 at a homeless camp on Harriet Street near the Des Moines River. A 45-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Police said at the time they suspected C. Luesebrink, 50, of the shooting. Luesebrink has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He's currently being held in the Polk County Jail. DMPD said the shooting victim is recovering. Authorities identify Iowa man found fatally-injured in road; 2 arrested 2024-09-02Marshalltown police and the Iowa DCI are investigating what led to the death of Ezra Oliver Seymour, 23, of Tama, who was found unresponsive with serious injuries in the middle of a road on North 12th Avenue and Bromley Street early Saturday morning. Seymour was transported to a Des Moines hospital where he later died. Two people, Trequan Merez Cosgrove, 25, of Marshalltown, and Jaimee Yajaira Alcaraz-Gutierrez, 26, of Marshalltown, have been arrested in connection to Seymour's death. Cosgrove has been charged with first-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm, while Alcaraz-Gutierrez has been charged with accessory after the fact. The investigation remains active and anyone with information is asked to contact the Marshalltown Police Department. |
