K., has been placed on unpaid administrative leave after being charged with stalking. A criminal complaint alleges that K. continuously contacted a female victim, drove by her house, and even let himself into her home, scaring her. K. is also named in a civil lawsuit accusing him of sending nude photos to a female police department employee and sexually assaulting her. Goleta Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Stabbing 2025-04-16A 36-year-old man from Goleta, E. Z., has been charged with attempted murder in connection to an April 6th stabbing on the 3100 block of State Street in Santa Barbara. Z. faces multiple felony charges, including using a knife, causing great bodily harm, and committing the crime while out on bail with prior 'strike' convictions. A 37-year-old woman, A. G., also of Goleta, is charged as an accessory after the fact. Mural of John Lewis Removed Without Notice to Artist 2025-04-15A mural of the late civil rights leader U.S. Rep. John Lewis featuring the phrase 'Black Lives Matter' was painted over without notice to the artist, Reuben C., who created it as part of the Third Space Community Mural Program in Des Moines. The building's owner, JBD Investments LLC, is painting over the murals in preparation for selling the property.
