A 54-year-old woman is dead and a 31-year-old woman is in custody after a disturbance in the village of Blue Mounds, Wisconsin. The Dane County Sheriff's Office was called to 10889 Smokey Mountain Trail, where they found the 54-year-old woman with serious injuries that later led to her death. The 31-year-old left the area in a vehicle and was apprehended by law enforcement at another location after a short foot chase. The relationship between the two women is not yet known.

Community members were left confused after noticing a mural of civil rights leader John Lewis and the words 'Black Lives Matter' were missing from the side of University Laundry in Des Moines. The company that owns the building, JBD Investments LLC, confirmed the murals were removed because it is preparing to sell the building. The mural's artist, Reuben Cheatem, said the decision was made with no warning and he only found out from a stranger's message. Cheatem hopes the removal will create opportunities for other community art projects.

Senate File 369 would require high schoolers to take and pass the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services naturalization civics test. Supporters argue it would help increase public understanding of civics, while critics say a required standardized test is not an effective way to ensure students have a good understanding of U.S. civics.
