Two people were arrested after a vehicle pursuit involving multiple police agencies in Monona, Wisconsin. The pursuit began when Madison police noticed a vehicle that had sped away from previous traffic stops. Monona police pursued the vehicle once it left Madison city limits, and officers from other agencies used tire spikes to slowly deflate the tires. Despite the damaged tires, the suspect continued to drive until the vehicle could no longer travel. The driver, C. Mardquardt, was arrested for eluding and a probation violation, and the passenger, E. Strnad, was arrested for resisting and a probation violation.

Police fatally shot a man they said was wanted on felony warrants inside a home on the southeast side of Des Moines. Officers arrived at the home seeking to arrest the man, who had warrants for domestic abuse and being a felon in possession of a firearm. The man attempted to run from officers and fired a gun at them, prompting two officers to return fire and kill him. The officers were not injured, and another person inside the home was also unharmed.
